Aftershock: Hulu is making us uncomfortable and I am thankful

Hulu’s new original series Aftershock is a hard-hitting drama that explores the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Los Angeles.

The show is intense and often uncomfortable, but it’s also an important representation of what happens when female survivors are forced to fend for themselves in a patriarchal society.

I’m thankful that Hulu is telling this story, and I hope it will open up a dialogue about the unique challenges women face in disaster situations.
