As a student at Kent State in the fall of 1985, a short 15 years later, I entered as a very conservative Midwesterner. I left as an enlightened liberal, thanks to Professor Jerry Lewis and my accidental enrollment in his sociology class. Part of the class was an afternoon spent on the grassy knoll, standing where the guardsmen stood and then walking over to where the student were shot.

This still brings tears to my eyes.
