Similar to the ‘Let’s go Brandon’ mantra, the MAGAs think their clever anti-WOKE campaingns signal their superiority. Yet another missed shot at those of us capable of empathy.

In recent years, the word “woke” has been used as an insult by those who don’t agree with progressive and liberal values.

But the truth is that being “woke” is much more than just a trend or a catchphrase — it’s a powerful tool for creating meaningful and lasting social change.

Defining WOKE

Before we use words, we must all agree on their meaning.

In the interest of achieving this objective, let’s be clear on what we mean when we say WOKE.

Using Meriam-Webster as a guid, the definition of WOKE is this. This slang term is widely understood to mean, “aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues, especially issues of racial and social justice.” (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/woke)

Notice the key aspects of the concept of WOKE are being aware and attentive to facts. Again, an attentiveness to facts. Perhaps this is the scariest part for the MAGA crowd as it is the reliance upon facts, not opinions nor matters of faith.
