Confession from a Toxic Mom: I Thought I Was Doing Good
I am told my parenting style is now considered toxic.
Motherhood is a tough job that comes with a lot of pressure and expectation.
Being a mom is not just about taking care of your child, it’s also about nurturing, guiding, and shaping them into responsible adults. As moms, we often strive to be the best version of ourselves for our children.
However, sometimes the pressure and stress can get the best of us, leading us down the wrong path.
As a mom, I always thought I was doing good for my children. I worked hard, provided for their needs, and ensured they were safe and healthy. However, as they grew up, I noticed that they were not as happy and confident as I wished they would be.
I realized that I had been a toxic mom who was over-controlling and critical of my children’s every move. My actions had taken a toll on their mental health, and it was a painful realization for me.
In the early years, I ensured my children were involved in all the activities.
When I say all, I do mean all.
