You don’t need to react to every statement on your social media feed.

Read that again.

You don’t need to react to every statement on your social media feed.

I learned this lesson over a long, painful journey deep into the reccesses of a rabbit hole I do not care to return.

Doom Scrolling is Over-Rated

I confess to succumbing to the temptation to scroll scroll scroll ad nauseam.

I have squandered a good day, no reason for deep-seeded worries only to go to my social feed, looking for problems. I have bit on the hook of click bait. I have engaged in senseless debate with complete strangers, likely bots, with illogical comments.

I have ruined very pleasant evenings out with my SO by scrolling my Twitter feed. The latest and greatest headlines serve as triggers to both Democrat and Republican leaning sides.

Just Say No

Consider this a public notice of my intention.

I am no longer going to spend my perfectly productive time looking for ways to slip into a depressive state.

I am no longer enabling those outside of my very intimate bubble to control my mental health.

I am snatching back my reality.
