What should I ignore today

The sun will rise, make its way across the sky and set in the evening. This has been the course of events observed by humans for tens of thousands of years. Day after day is measured in the same twenty-four hour rotation of the earth.

What separates one day from the next? How do we measure successes?

The sun will make its journey across the sky regardless of what we decide to do, The sun will rise and then subsequently set with complete disregard to our actions. Time will go forward. Days will pass. What difference do we make on this big rock circling the sun?

The difference is us. It is what we do in the instant of time that we are given, but more importantly this is a choice, our choice. The days will continue to pass us by without ceasing. On the other hand, we may choose to be an impact in the world. Make no mistake, the choice is entirely ours to make. Time will continue to march on, oblivious to our choice. If we do nothing — truly nothing — the time passes. If we decide to develop into the very best version of ourselves, — yes, the time passes.
