As the House Select committee investigating and conducting the subsequent hearings on the events of January 6, several things have become clear.

The Adults Were in Charge

Despite Donald Trump’s best efforts to thwart democracy, the institutions of held. Barely.

While we often complain of the slow moving wheels of bureaucracy, this very mechanism held our government together. The few adults in the room still committed to upholding the Constitution were able to maintain the smallest degree of integrity and refused to bow to the whims of a man-baby.

Images of tantrums, thrown plates of food, demands to be driven to the ‘party’ all right true and are consistent with the character of The Don.

The United States of America is Fragile

Prior to 2016, few could imagine an administration so fraught with corruption, so bent on warping minds to willingly follow a fascist.

I clearly recall being in a high school American government class, learning of the Nazi Germany period and believing, if not knowing, those events would never happed in America.
