Fear is Over-Rated — Be It, Do it, Live it

Were you warned to not try something because you would surely fail?
Were you encouraged to take a risk?
“[My mother] told me that fear was not an option. I was always told that women are stronger, so I believed it.”
– Diane Von Furstenberg
What did our distant ancestors think the first time they observed a spark develop into a fire? How did the Wright brothers know what an airplane was?
How did Susan B. Anthony first get the idea that women should be, no, are entitled to vote?
Seeing is Believing — Seek out others that are what you want to be
Many times it is difficult to envision how success looks.
When you have a dream, it is likely that there are others that have already achieved this, or at least some small part of your dream.
As a young woman, I knew that I did not wish to follow in the path that was laid out before me. I did not wish to settle for the person that everyone ‘expected’ me to marry. I did not wish to aspire to being a housewife and mother only. I did not buy into the myth that a woman’s place is could only be in the supporting role of a home. I was certain that I was strong enough to play the lead in my own life.
