GOP Campaign Ads Are Claiming Trans are a Threat to Our Children. Have They Completely Lost Touch With Reality?

As the 2024 election cycle heats up, we’re witnessing the Republican Party’s continued fixation on the trans community, primarily through their campaign ads.

Many of these ads paint transgender individuals as an imminent threat to children — a claim so far-fetched and disconnected from reality that it raises the question: has the GOP wholly lost touch?

In their relentless pursuit of a culture war, Republicans have zeroed in on the trans community as a primary target, distorting facts and using fear-mongering tactics to rally their base.

What’s truly alarming is how disproportionate and misleading this focus is when compared to the actual size and impact of the transgender population.
