Extremist podcasters like to make promises of civil war. They often make bavado-filled claims of the need to take up arms and protect oneself against the radical leftists. Fearmongering white nationalists are the harbingers of doom and despair as they swear they are being replaced by some black or brown skinned boogey man. Anti-immigration proponents make claims of millions of illegals storming the border.

We are expected to live in fear. Lots of fear.

We have been here before — how did we get out of this conflict in the past?

Its Deja Vu all over again
In the late 1800s, we found ourselves in a divisive state, as bad as, if not worse than today.

Recall if you will the state of our country in this era.

Recently past an actual civil war, where citizens fired upon and killed each other, the country struggled to pull itself together. The triumphant north determined to establish its priorities, strove to put down the adversaries in the south. The south, feeling the humiliation of loss to the north…
