Getting Back to Basics

Let’s talk about fitness today.

No, we are not going to discuss fad diets or expensive gym memberships.

Instead, let’s take a journey back in time and learn how our ancestors stayed fit without any fancy equipment.

Yes, you read it right!

Our forefathers and foremothers didn’t have access to air-conditioned gyms, Zumba classes, or even running shoes. So, what did they do to stay healthy and toned? Let’s explore.

Walking

Walking is the most basic form of exercise that doesn’t require any special gear or skills. Our ancestors walked way more than we do. They didn’t have cars or elevators, so they walked to get to places and climbed stairs to reach higher floors.

Walking is an excellent low-impact exercise that strengthens your heart, lungs, and muscles.

Common sense strategy: Start by taking a 15-minute walk every day. Gradually increase the duration and intensity of your walks until you’re walking for 30 minutes or more, at least four days a week.
