I would suggest this is understated.

…if it commits itself to Evangelical tenants (this is known as “Christian Nationalism). Furthermore, most Evangelicals believe that the Republican party best represents Evangelical ideals — and thus vote Republican across the board.

I would suggest this is understated. Many Evangelicals believe to vote against the Republican party is a vote against their faith. The us vs. them tribalism is counter to scriptures.
