In the super small (minded) community I grew up, not only do they convince themselves they are just fine. They have managed to convince themselves they are the only Americans who are truly fine. Instead, the mindset is anyone who is not exactly like them, in dress, speech, and beliefs, is the 'other' and must be feared, cursed, and disparaged.

Needless to say, I am no longer welcome.
