Every year during the season of Lent, many Chrstians choose to give up something for the 40 days leading up to Easter.

Most of us think about giving up our favorite foods or drinks, but there are a lot of other things you can do that won’t suck too much and still honor the spirit of Lent.

Sacrifice Time Instead of Food

One way to observe Lent without giving up your favorite treats is to sacrifice time instead.

Take a break from watching TV or playing video games, and use that time to volunteer in your community or spend time with family and friends. You could also use it as an opportunity to pick up a new hobby, like painting or knitting. Not only will you be honoring the season of Lent, but you may also find something new that you enjoy doing!

Sacrifice Social Media Time

Social media can be both good and bad — it helps us stay connected with people all around the world, but it can also be very distracting from real life.
