Medium is Not the Place for That

As a forum facilitating the exchange of thoughts and ideas, sharing new perspectives Medium is unique in giving all a voice.

As a writer relatively new to the game, Medium provides a unique proposition of honing skill, all while earning some income.

Learning as we go, writers can practice new techniques, with feedback and support from their peers.

It is a brilliant concept.

Until the dreaded troll comes along.

The Myth Comes Alive

I have heard of the trolls other writers have documented.

I am not clear what motivates this person, the ones whose comments are not only contrary, offensive, and over-the-top ridiculous, but also longer than the original article. I was recently blessed to have one such troll compose a dissertation on why my opinion was incorrect, but to further chastise me for even having such thoughts.

Clearly this troll was passionate, but honestly, I could care less.

Full. Stop.

One can assume in our brave new world of anonymous posts of antisocial rants, an unsolicited troll is expected.
