Pictures from March 2020 have recently been popping up on my timeline, and the images make me a little sad. I truly had no idea I was about to experience an existential event, one which would literally change my life.

Abrupt Transformation of March 2020

Remember when the world was normal?

When the only thing we had to worry about was getting our taxes done on time and whether or not the kids were doing their homework? It feels like a million years ago.

It was just March 2020, and no one could have predicted what would happen next.

How It Started

In March 2020, I was living in Cleveland, Ohio with my husband. Life felt, well…normal. We had no idea that it all might be coming to an end sooner than we thought.

In March 2020 actually we were vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

At first, the news reports didn’t seem too alarming; after all, epidemics come and go every year in some form or another.

The international news we were seeing was starting to cover pockets of outbreaks in the US and Canada. We sensed subtle escalation, yet we were in laid-back Mexico, so we assumed this was just another…
