Let me say the quiet thing out loud:
You are allowed to step back without stepping away.
You can take a breath, log off, skip a protest, or say “not today” to the never-ending onslaught of bad news—and still be a good Democrat. A good citizen. A good person.
Because somewhere along the way, for those of us who care deeply about equity, justice, and democracy, activism became a moral marathon with no finish line. And too many of us are trying to sprint it.
You Are Not a Bad Ally Because You’re Tired
Let’s kill the guilt spiral right now.
Needing rest does not make you
- Privileged and out of touch
- Weak or unreliable
- Less committed to the cause
- Selfish
- “Part of the problem”
