Stealing like a writer can certainly be tricky. Perhaps I am old school, but when I hear 'remix' I do not have good positive thoughts.

The creative process is about learning from those before us and then add your own spice and flavor. The 'stealing' or 'remix' - whatever it is now called - must be done in such a way that adds value and takes the piece further.

I do not favor the remix itself, without the added value, as an art.
