Stolen Elections Don’t Apply to Me: The Voices of MAGAs in Office Speak Hypocrisy

Elected officials supporting Trump's claims of a rigged election have an obvious problem. No one believes them.

Donald Trump’s most famous rallying cry is ‘the stolen, rigged election’ claim, without proof or evidence, of course.

To gain his favor and publicity, relatively unknown Republicans have taken up the mantle of these claims with aspirations of riding his coattails and garnering support from his supporters.

Strangely enough, none of these GOP leaders are claiming their election results were the result of rigged, stolen elections.

These are just a few examples of elected Republican officials who have supported election deniers. There are many other examples, and the number of election deniers in the Republican Party is growing.

Doug Mastriano, Pennsylvania Governor: Mastriano was a vocal supporter of Donald Trump’s false claims of election fraud, and he organized buses to transport people to the January 6th rally in Washington, D.C. He has also called for a “forensic audit” of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania.
