As a frequent visitor to Mexico (4 times a year for past 8 or 9 years) I agree with your assessments and observations. For me, the reasons you list as negatives are simply not that horrible. From my perspective the graciousness and kindness of the culture far outweighs the draw backs and I find the genuine realness to be refreshing.
