I am too young to retire and too old to keep up with my kids

I am in that awkward age.

I am a fifty-something with no grandchildren — that’s okay I’m too young for that anyway. On the other end of the spectrum I am too old for Snapchat, IG, TikTok, or any other such nonsense.

What is a functioning adult to do?

Living the Dream

Admittedly, I am complaining about first world problems.

You know what I mean, problems like not enough free WiFi, the fact that I cannot find CBD oil at my local grocer, or frustration at the price of almond flour — super fine grind of course.

Often we forget that we are living in the world of high tech medicine, true global connectivity, and financial freedom. We can go where we want (with only a few exceptions thanks to the current resident of the White House). We can choose to eat healthier foods. We can reasonably expect personal safety and generally do not fear what lurks around the next corner.

When I compare my personal existence to the previous generation or two, I take for granted things that worried them. I am planning for a future that my parents never dreamed was possible.

So why are we so worried?
