Understanding Pronouns: A Guide for Allies

In today’s world, where inclusivity and respect are more important than ever, understanding and correctly using pronouns is crucial in supporting and affirming the identities of those around us.

Pronouns are not just words but fundamental to our sense of self and identity. For allies, getting pronouns right is essential to showing respect and support for everyone, particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community.

What Are Pronouns?

Pronouns are words used to refer to someone without using their name. Common pronouns include:
- He/Him/His
- She/Her/Hers
- They/Them/Theirs

In addition to these, there are also neopronouns like xe/xem/xyr and ze/zir/zirs, which some people use to reflect their gender identity better.
