We the People Means All the People
5 Ways Extremists Are Twisting the Constitution — And How We Push Back
They say they’re defending the Constitution. But they really want to control who it protects — and who it doesn’t. Here’s how we reclaim it.
Somewhere along the way, a loud, radical minority decided that they alone speak for “real Americans.”
They wave the Constitution like a weapon, cherry-pick the Founding Fathers like a buffet, and pretend liberty only belongs to those who look, pray, or vote like them.
But “We the People” was never meant to be a gated community. It was a promise.
And now? That promise is under siege.
Let’s break down how extremists are twisting the Constitution — and more importantly, what we can do to untwist it.
1. They Weaponize Free Speech — but Only for Themselves
Extremists love to shout about “free speech” when they’re spreading conspiracy theories or hate. But when students protest, teachers speak out, or librarians push back on book bans? Suddenly, that speech is “dangerous” or “anti-American.”
They don’t want freedom of speech. They want freedom from consequences — and freedom from dissent.
