What’s In Your Winter Coat? An Exploration Of Emotional Baggage

Have you ever noticed how some people seem to be wearing their winter coat on a summer day?

No matter what the temperature is outside, they seem to always have a layer of emotional baggage holding them back. This can be hard to recognize in ourselves, but it is so important to take a step back and check in with your emotions.

Does Emotional Baggage Look Like This?

Emotional baggage usually comes in the form of fear, doubt, self-doubt, resentment, or any other negative emotion.

It can manifest itself as an inability to trust others or an unwillingness to feel vulnerable. It can also appear as anxiety around social situations or relationships due to past experiences.

My own version of baggage manifests itself in some dramatic FOMO (fear of missing out).

Let’s just say my own baggage includes a childhood of being poor, not having the ‘right’ brands, not being included in the right parties. Fast forward…
