Why is Taylor Swift Hated by MAGA?
Being a legitimate billionaire, not just a fraudulent real estate mogul with overpriced holdings, makes Ms. Swift a target.
Over the years, Taylor Swift has evolved from a country music darling into a pop powerhouse and, more significantly, a vocal advocate for various social issues.
She embodies many of the values and ideals often criticized by MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, a group predominantly associated with conservative, right-wing ideologies, often aligned with the Republican Party and former President Donald Trump.
First, Swift has been outspoken about LGBTQ+ rights.
Her music video for “You Need to Calm Down” is a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and takes a stand against homophobia, which clashes with the conservative stance on traditional marriage and gender norms. This advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights is seen as a direct challenge to the conservative values upheld by many MAGA followers.
Second, Swift’s public stance on political matters, especially her endorsement of Democratic candidates in Tennessee during the 2018 midterm elections, marked a significant shift from her previously apolitical public persona.
