Yes to all of this! From a fellow traveller that tends to spend at least 6 weeks of the year outside of the US, pre-COVID of course, coming back is never a matter of choice but of obligation.

As my employer does not allow a fully-remote role, I am required to return although functionally my role is able to be fulfilled outside of the brick and mortar world.

When one spends time outside of te US, it is evident we are broken. Conflicts, gun fire, and political drama are not necessary to a human existence.
